Before you arrive
Once you book, you'll get a welcome email with a short intake form — health history, current concerns, goals, and any prior chiropractic or medical notes you want us to see. Filling this in at least a day ahead lets us focus your in-person time on what matters most.
Where we are: 4187 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611. We're on the retail stretch of Piedmont Ave between 41st St and Glen Ave — the same block as Piedmont Grocery and a short walk from the 51st/Piedmont AC Transit line.
Parking: Free street parking directly on Piedmont Ave and surrounding side streets. Typically easy to find outside of the 5–7pm retail rush.
Accessibility: Flat entry, stroller-friendly, family restroom on the same floor.
When you walk in
The clinic is warm, calm, and designed for families. You'll check in, grab water or tea, and Dr. Danika will greet you personally — typically within a minute or two of your scheduled time.
If you're bringing a baby, a toddler, or a partner, they're all welcome. Our adjusting rooms accommodate a stroller, a car seat, and a sibling hanging out nearby.
The three parts of your first visit
1. Consultation (about 15 minutes)
A focused conversation about what brought you in, your health history, and what you want care to do for you. No rush. Questions are encouraged.
2. INSiGHT nervous system scans (about 10 minutes)
Three painless, non-invasive scans that measure how your nervous system is functioning:
- Thermography — a sensor slid down the spine
- Surface EMG — small sensors measure postural muscle activity
- Heart rate variability (HRV) — a chest-clip sensor measures autonomic balance
Kids and babies get age-appropriate versions of the same scans. No needles, no radiation, no electricity into the body.
3. Functional assessment and first adjustment (about 20 minutes)
Hands-on testing of motion, posture, and specific joints. If — and only if — appropriate, Dr. Danika performs a gentle first adjustment. Pediatric and pregnancy-specific positioning as needed.
Your Report of Findings
Most first visits conclude with a short walk-through of your scan data and a clear, written care plan. You leave knowing:
- What we found
- What we recommend
- What it costs
- How we'll measure progress
The initial visit is $250. HSA and FSA accepted. Superbills available for insurance reimbursement (we are out-of-network).
What if it's not a fit?
We'd rather tell you that than sell you care. If your scans don't suggest chiropractic is the right lever for you, we say so — and we'll point you toward the provider who should be involved.
